Project Brief for Action Learning Sets This report says how this work will be done.

This work is to give Commissioners and Providers a tool to get along better. On the 30 th of July, 2014, the people in Finding Common Purpose said that we need to do this work. We have already found areas that would like to try this tool. We need to make an Action Learning Set which works. This is because if it is done wrong, then it could break some rules around buying services. This is also because some people may not want to share their good ideas around care – in case someone else uses those ideas to make money. What is this Work?

We need to find local areas that want to solve problems. We already have three areas that are interested in using an Action Learning Set. We need to make an Action Learning Set that is safe to use, for example -No sharing of individual information, -No blaming for past problems, -No naming specific Providers, -No contracts talked about, -Yes to agreeing the outcome wanted, -Yes to things that can be done by people in the room, -Yes to sharing information and ideas, -People in the Set have power to do something about problem, and -People to have Trust and Respect.

1. Some local areas only want Commissioners in the room. This is a problem because there is little to learn for other people. If this happens, we will look for other local areas. 2 We cannot find the right person to run the Action Learning Set. This is a problem because the Set will not work with the wrong person. If this happens, Stephen Taylor and Michelle Murray will run the Action Learning Set 3.The Action Learning Sets do not get a result. This is a problem because there will be no reason for other people to try it. If this happens, we will look for smaller groups to work with. What are the Risks?
