Welcome to the St. Chris monthly newsletter, alerting you to what’s new at St. Christopher House. Please join us in our Annual Community Sweep on Saturday, May 15 th from 10-2pm and on Tuesday, May 18 th from 5-9pm – we need your help in talking to community members! This is a fun volunteer day, with lunch included! All are welcome to come and help out, please contact Fernando at or ph ext. 105 if you can join Parkdale Youth Space - Now Open for Youth What is the PYS? PYS is a new place where youth (ages 13-29) can hang out, gain leadership skills, and get help with things like school, finding a job, and personal problems. PYS is run by St. Christopher House in partnership with Arrabon House, CultureLink, Parkdale Community Information Centre, and Toronto Public Health. Where is PYS? We are located at 1499 Queen St. West, 2 nd Flr. (between Roncesvalles and Jameson Ave). Programs available include: Arts in the House (Youth HOST) Belly Dance Computer use, drop-in Yoga in the House (Youth HOST) Youth Empowering Parkdale Project Youth Advisory Committee Volunteer Opportunities Special Events Day Trips Additional Youth Programs available at other St. Christopher House locations: French Conversation Circle (Youth HOST) English Conversation Circle (Youth HOST) Graffiti Transformation Program Indoor and Outdoor Sports Club (Youth HOST) Mentoring (Youth HOST) Tutoring Youth Fusion Drop-in Youth Summer Leadership All programs are FREE but registration is required. The party will be held in the Parkdale Youth Space (1499 Queen St. W, 2 nd floor). Enter the Name the Space contest. The winning name will be announced at the party and the winner will be awarded $100. The contest is open to Youth ages and runs from now till May 20 th. If you can help out or if you know of someone else who would like to help out, please contact our Volunteer Program at We are still recruiting for volunteer CYCLISTS for our Meals-on-Wheels program, to deliver meals by bicycle during the spring and summer months. This is a very exciting volunteer initiative, where you can get exercise, enjoy the outdoors and help support seniors, all in one!
