California Integrated Waste Management Board 8 California & National Efforts 1990s: Board works with Local Govt. on paint issues throughout decade August 2000: Board Resolution to study Issue January 2001: Board Resolution approves advocating a fee of 15 to 30 cents per gallon of paint to help local government with cost 2004 – Paint Product Stewardship Initiative (National Paint Dialogue). First MOU Signed.

California Integrated Waste Management Board 9 California & National Efforts : Paint Dialogue conducts 11 research projects covering all aspects of leftover paint collection & recycling Shared responsibility and funding among manufacturers, recyclers, and government.
