School’s Progress Towards: Academic Goals Goal: Increase Student Achievement as evidenced by NYS assessments by 2% Goal EXCEEDED: NYS Math Assessments increased by 7% and ELA increased by 5% All staff used a system of collecting and acting upon student data with Action Plans All staff were provided eleven professional development opportunities in CC Math and ELA All staff, students parents and community members were made aware of Albany School’s Mission statement and guiding principles Albany School Community (Safety + Respect) x (Academic + Social Skills) = Career/College Ready Teacher Practices SBIT Team and horizontal and vertical biweekly meetings tracked student data to determine student academic strengths and weaknesses Data Action Plans utilized by all teachers, included panning and goal setting based on students’ academic abilities, differentiated instruction academic abilities, and progress monitoring Staff development sessions related to the implementation of the CCLS and improving instruction Albany School’s Mission Statement was included on all signatures, all school publications and the mission statement was announced daily by students during morning announcements.

Hospice, United Way Grant/Safe Schools provided social and emotional support for students UCP partnership provided professional development for teachers and parents. Family Dentistry Program provided dental care for students
SCEP Measurable Academic Goals Increase Student Achievement as evidenced by NYS assessments by 5-15% Building principal will use evidenced based Action Planning to examine and improve instructional practices, targeting student needs. Provide 100% of teachers with actionable and corrective feedback following each classroom visit at least three times during the school year. Provide at least 6 professional development opportunities, focusing on increasing cognitive engagement and critical thinking skills (Dive Deeper and Differentiated Instruction) Teachers will inform planning by fostering student participation in their own learning process Teacher Practices/Instructional Strategies Goals 100% of instructional staff will utilize formative and summative data to form instructional groups and target instruction. All teachers will participate in bi-weekly horizontal, vertical and School Based Inquiry Team meetings to continue a system of acting on student data aligned with the District’s system Focus on Differentiated Instruction to target individual student needs. All teachers will develop an ongoing system for their students to monitor their own progress and provide actionable feedback to students

SCEP Student’s Social/Emotional Health Goals Provide a safe and healthy school learning community: All staff will use PBIS socio-emotional programs to address student needs Instructional support team will meet to discuss interventions for students who demonstrate needs Anti-bullying programs Parent & Community Involvement Goals Partner with local agencies to promote and provide training to promote academic and social and emotional health to support student success. Share data among parents and school community to promote dialogue that is centered on students’ learning and encourages families to use data to advocate for support services for their children. A special Focus will be placed on English as a New Language parents with the assistance of Academic Coaches, translated surveys, Curriculum Nights and Parent Education meetings
Brief Highlight of Activities to Accomplish the Goals for TENET 2: School Leader Practices & Decisions Conduct Instructional Walks Teachers will create personal action plans to address feedback from instructional walks Building leader and teacher leaders will create a school calendar to implement and monitor systems in place; SBIT, IST, action planning, vertical /horizontal meetings, parent meetings, student conference… Provide climate surveys for students, teachers and parents to measure needs and drive programs TENET 3: Curriculum Development Building leader and leadership team will provide professional development focusing on cognitive engagement and critical thinking skills. Teachers will increase the rigor of daily lessons by using Differentiated Instruction and higher level thinking, problem solving skills All teachers will partner with all grades and subjects to create interdisciplinary curricula TENET 4: Teacher Practices & Decisions Team planning meetings will be informed by data: summative, formative, NYSESLAT, quarterly Benchmark Assessments, attendance, IEP’s and ODR’s… Teachers will create a student progress monitoring tool for their students Teachers will meet with their students to provide them with feedback following assessments TENETS 5 & 6 : Social and Emotional Developmental Health and Family and Community Engagement PBIS program, PTO, volunteer after school programs Monthly parent meetings Community partnership with CHBS will continue to provide behavioral professional development for parents and staff and counseling services for students. School Dentistry program will continue to meet with families and provide dental services at Albany Elementary School.
SCEP Monitoring Plan Weekly updates of SCEP monitors goals in each tenet Quarterly updates of the SCEP are submitted to Department of Grants, Contracts and Compliance Quarterly updates of SCEP are shared with staff SBIT presentations to staff: State of the School Data based on I Ready results of Diagnostic Assessments in October, January, and June Instructional Walkthroughs are reviewed and results are included in Vertical/Horizontal meetings and guide Professional Development Monthly review of student attendance, ODR’s, in/out of school suspensions and students services
