Texas Living Wax Museum Sample board layouts Use poster boards provided by the school. These will be attached to the wall.

What should be on my board? Name of famous person should be in 3 inch letters at the top of the poster board Famous person’s picture should be centered under their name Red button must be on the lower right hand corner on the poster At least 5 pictures of the person or something pertaining to their accomplishments All wording must be typed. No handwritten information should be on the board Make the poster eye-catching. Spice it up with border or color backgrounds Add accent pieces that represent the person’s accomplishment Your child’s name should be on the back of the board. What should I expect the day of the performance? Come to school dressed in costume no later than 7:45 The museum will take place in the Primary Cafeteria area Students will stand in posed position until their turn to speak at the microphone Students will speak for at least 1-2 minutes. They must share at least 10 facts with the audience Once finished speaking student will return to pose until given further directions (practice a few poses that you can change into that represent the pose the character would use) If time permits, students will have one on one time for students to come by and press the button to learn more about the character. Students will need to change clothes right after the presentation to go to Chapel at 9:30.

Time Line Oral Presentation – Monday, February 23 rd Be prepared to share your speech with the class Poster Due – Monday, February 23 rd Please see the first page of this presentation for examples of posters Living Wax Museum – Thursday, February 26 th, 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. All family and friends are invited to this event Come to school dressed in costume – students must arrive to school by 7:45 so they can be in position when the program begins Students will change into Chapel attire after the museum
