“The Avett Brothers” is a North Carolina Band that originates here in Cabarrus County. They live in the Concord/Mt. Pleasant Area Their father, Jim Avett, is a performer and was their original teacher.

Seth Avett Vocals, guitar, hi- hat, piano, drums, tambourine Had a rock band while he was at Mt. Pleasant High School named “Margo”

History Began their partnership with Dolph Ramseur, a local label owner, in 2003 and released their first album “A Carolina Jubilee” 2007 Won Americana Music Association awards “Duo/Group of the Year” and “New/Emerging Group” 2010 Began playing on many late night TV shows including David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon
