THE SOUTH AFRICAN CURRENCY: SOLVING STORY PROBLEMS USING CENTS AND RANDS

So, join in the first grade fun and learn about:  The South African currency  Solving story problems using Cents and Rands  Finding total and change It’s an adventure, so come along!!

We will be learning about the south African Currency, in other words money, and our adventure starts off with identifying money.

Cents Rands

Solving story problems using Cents and Rands Katie has 20 Rands in her Pockets. Her mom gives her 2 more Rands and tells her to save them in her piggy bank. How many Rands does Katie have in total? = ____ + 22 Rands

Alison wants to buy a large pizza to share with two friends. The pizza costs 5 Rands but give the cashier 10 Rands. How much will she get back? _ = ____ 5 Rands

A toy top costs 50 cents. What coins are needed to purchase the Item at the cost stated above.
