How to Build a Works Cited Page

Read the other Power Point about the Difference between a Works Cited and a Bibliography

Step One-Assemble Materials Open a Word Document and type Works Cited at the top. Center the words. No underline, italics, fancy font or bold. Keep all text Times New Roman 12 font. Have your two Bibliography Cards OR your two sources at hand Open up Internet Explorer or another web browser

Step Two-Review online websites that format information for you

Step Three-Select MLA There are various styles of Works Cited. Most commonly you will have the choice of MLA or APA Select MLA

Step Four-Know your source type Your book is…..a book. A book with one author Your critical essay may be part of a book, a database or a website. Even if you printed from a website or data base and have paper, it’s an electronic source Find the names of your two source types on the interent site you selected.

Step Five-The easy step After selecting your source type enter the information into the template Select create or format or whatever command offered Copy and paste the formatted material into your Word Document Repeat for second source Entries are alphabetical
