2 Coker Columbarium Ministry MISSION The Mission of the Coker Columbarium Ministry is to provide a final resting place, consecrated in a spirit of dignity and reverence, for the ashes of loved ones at eternal rest with our Lord. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

3 FUTURE COKER COLUMBARIUM

4 WHAT IS A COLUMBARIUM? A Columbarium… Is a dedicated, consecrated, permanent structure. Has Chambers or compartments designed to hold the ashes of individuals in boxes known as Urns. Serves as the final resting place for loved ones. Having a Columbarium on Coker church grounds… Revives the age ‐ old tradition of the church to serve its members from baptism to death. Is a statement of our faith in the resurrection, the life everlasting, and the church triumphant. Is doubly appropriate as the final resting place for the earthly remains of those who, in life, loved the church.

5 WHY A COLUMBARIUM AT COKER? It fulfills the Church’s mission to oversee the spiritual life of our congregation from baptism through life to death. The Coker Columbarium setting is a modern version of an old-time church cemetery which -- Allows for ease of visitation by surviving family, friends and fellow worshippers during regular church visits. Serves as a serene spot for reflection, meditation and prayer. Provides a substantial financial advantage over the costs of a traditional cemetery burial. Recognizes the legacy of the original Coker family and extends the reverence of the Coker Cemetery to the Columbarium. Is Eco Friendly, conserves land and the environment.
