GROUP SECURITY INVESTIGATIONS

2016/06/212 Drive down the instances of energy crime against Eskom by means of effective prevention, investigation and prosecution of such crimes. Coordinate crime prevention, detection and prosecution activities with related behavioural, social awareness and technical initiatives in order to maximise results. Ensure the maximum effective level of awareness, cooperation and support from government, law enforcement, prosecuting authorities as well as business and social stakeholders. Promote a legal and technical understanding of revenue crimes in law enforcement as well as in our courts and judicial system Promote the design and implementation of legislative solutions to network and revenue crime GSI OBJECTIVES

GSI INVESTIGATIVE (OPERATIONAL) ROLE Aside from its consultative and directive role, Group Security Investigations (GSI) maintains the following operational functions: To:- Investigate, or cause and direct the investigation of, incidents of Organised and Priority Crimes committed against Eskom Monitor crime trends and threats emerging from incidents and investigations and to advise on remedial action Ensure that crimes committed against Eskom are properly reported to, and properly received and considered by, law enforcement and prosecutorial authorities. 2016/06/213

Incidents assigned to GSI by CE or Group Security Manager GSI INVESTIGATIVE MANDATE

2016/06/218 Any of the following offences insofar as they are committed by or against Eskom employees in relation to, or arising from, or ensuing from their employment, duties or position at Eskom: Blackmail or extortion Intimidation Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm Armed Robbery Murder Any incident involving a fire – arm, ammunition and / or possible transgressions of the FCA or related statutory requirements.. 2016/06/219 The supplier should have adequate experience in the investigation of organised crime and other categories of crime listed in the scope. Provide evidence and references from existing or past customers/contracts and also mention some of the successes achieved. An in house investigative team of investigators.
