Trends in Education… New ways people are learning and how Cooperative Extension embraces the change.

Our Audience… “Some states (e.g., Oregon between 1986 and 2006) have lost as much as 50% of their audience or market share in 20 years. That trajectory can't be sustained.” King and Boehlje, JOE October 2013

What are the Trends? Who and What are the competitors for us in the online learning space?

What are the Trends? How/Where are people learning? How is Extension embracing social learning?

What are the Trends? How is Extension embracing new technologies? Serving audiences beyond geography?

What are the Trends? Which tools are appropriate for extension? Opportunity or a Threat? How would we do this?

What are the Trends? How will it fit with local programming? What can you do about it?

Next Steps… These are all tough questions we need to get a handle on or we’ll be out of the learning business. Extension must link discovery, learning, and engagement.
