Marketing: Briana Plank Life Sciences Communication Major —concentration in strategic marketing Certificate in Entrepreneurship Senior I joined PBL as a freshman my first semester on campus and haven’t left since! PBL has offered me the opportunities to visit businesses in Minneapolis, Chicago and New York during my time here on campus. I’ve also been able to take on a leadership position this year as Marketing Chair. PBL offers great opportunities to help prepare any student for real world experiences that can translate to any career.
Marketing: Briana Plank Cont. Marketing Committee Ideas: Case Study Competition – this involves assessing, analyzing, and producing solutions to a problem within an organization. T-shirt Design contest – each member (or team) on the marketing committee can design what they think is the best t-shirt design for PBL and the winner will receive a prize Flyer Design – each member of marketing committee will have an opportunity to create awesome flyers promoting PBL and events that we are a apart of on campus Advertising Competition – each member (or team) that chooses to participate in the advertising competition will not only have an amazing resume-builder, they can win prizes for their efforts and hard work in the competition. This competition will involve creating a company and/or product, analyzing the marketing and branding involved with promoting the product, and planning for the product’s launch with advertising strategies and tactics. Fundraiser – each member of the marketing committee will be able to put their sales skills to the test. PBL holds fundraisers to benefit the local community and our own organization. Ideas for fundraisers taken from the past: bagel sales, pizza sales, bake sales, etc. As members to the club, we have fun while raising money so we can help others and be able to experience awesome places like New York and San Francisco! Why Should You Join? PBL is an amazing student organization that can provide you great opportunities to prepare for your career and help you network with future employers. More than that, PBL is a second family. You get to know everyone and create long- lasting friendships …and you could get to go to San Francisco?!
