SAVING ELECTRICITY By: Lucas, Dana & Stephen

Survey questions ■Do you turn the lights off when you leave the room ■Do you keep the heat on when you're not home ■Do you leave the tv on when you're not in the room

Is our questions bias ■Our questions aren’t bias because the answer is based on how your house hold ■The cost of using electricity and heating can be quite expensive What is the cost of this

How did we pick our samples We used the systematic sample. ■We used the systematic sample by rolling a dice and then picking the number it rolled on (example every 3 rd person)

Other ways to sample Random sample ■You could randomly select people off the street to do the survey, which would give more variety. Stratified sample ■You could divide the population into groups then choose the same amount of people from each group

Other ways to sample (continued) Convenience sample ■A easy way to access people to take a vote ■example: stand in front of a school door and ask people as they walk by Voluntary survey ■People randomly volunteer to take the survey ■Example: we post a survey on Facebook and people decide to press on the link and take the survey

Question one Most people sometimes or never turn off the lights.

Question two Most people turn the the heat off when they leave the house.

Question three Most people sometimes turns the tv off when they leave the room.

Gathering summarization ■We first picked a card and we got the number three so on the class list we went to every third person in our class. Asked them the question and then recorded it. ■We could have asked more people the questions. ■Could have came up with more of a Persuasive question

Summarization of Mean ■The mean is ■We added all the number together and divided by the number of value

Summarization of Mode ■The mode is 3 – 4 – 5 ■3 – 4 – 5 is the most frequent values

Summarization of the Median ■The Median is the middle number of all the data, which is four
