Have you had breakfast this morning?

If you answered yes, it’s a good start…but is your breakfast nutritious?

A nutritious breakfast… Contains foods from at least three of the four groups in Canada’s Food Guide.

Examples of balanced breakfasts Whole-wheat waffles, fruit, and yogurt Cereal with milk and a banana Egg, whole-wheat bread, and milk

If you’re not really hungry… If you’re not really hungry in the morning…or if you don’t have enough time to eat breakfast… Eat a light snack when you get up; Complete your meal later on in the morning.

A few ideas to inspire you Start with…Complete with… A glass of milk and a few almonds A home-made bran muffin and fresh grapes A yogurtA multigrain bagel with peanut butter Cubes of cheddar cheeseA banana wrapped in a whole- wheat tortilla
