Prepositions

What is a preposition? Prepositions are words that describe relationships between nouns or pronouns and other words in a sentence. Example: A mouse squeezed through the tiny hole.

The word through is a preposition The word through is a preposition. Without it, the reader would not know what the tiny hole had to do with the mouse. The tiny hole is the prepositional object. Through the tiny hole makes up the prepositional phrase.
