Word Harry

Phrase Harry had always been small

Sentence Perhaps it had something to do with living in a dark cupboard, but Harry had always been small and skinny for his age.

Paragraph "Perhaps it had something to do with living in a dark cupboard, but Harry had always been small and skinny for his age. HE looked even smaller and skinner than he really was because all he had to wear were old clothes of Dudley's and Dudley was about four times bigger than he was. Harry had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair and bright green eyes. He wore round glasses held together with a lot of Sellotape because of all the times Dudley had punched him on the nose. The only thing Harry liked about his own appearance was a very thin scar on his forehead which was shaped like a bolt of lightning.

Book

Level 1 : Cells Cells-Smallest unit of life Organisms have hundreds of different kinds of cells Cells have different structures for different jobs Structure = how parts of the cell are put together Shape Material it’s made from Structure of a brain cell is different from muscle cell

Level 2: Tissues Tissue = group of cells that work together to do a specific job Usually a group of a few different types of cells that complete a specific task. Ex: Bone is a type of connective tissue made of cells that make bone, cells that break down bone, and cells that monitor bone for damage. Animals have 4 types of tissue: nerve, muscle, connective, connective, epithelial Plants have 3 types of tissue : transport, protective, ground

Level 3: Organs Organ = structure that is made up of 2 or more different kinds of tissues working together to get a specific job done Ex: Stomach – muscle tissue moves food, special tissues make chemicals to digest food, connective tissue holds stomach together, nervous tissue sends messages back and forth between the stomach and brain

Level 4: Organ Systems Organ system = group of different organs working together to perform a specific function Each organ system has a specific job Ex: Digestive system is made of several organs including the stomach and intestines

Level 5 Organism An individual composed of organ systems that work together to survive and reproduce. Organisms have structures to meet needs of cells, and structures of cells meet needs of organisms

Levels of organization Cells -basic unit of an animal’s structure -become specialized _______________________________ Tissues -group of several different types of cells performing a specific function __________________________________________ Organs -made of different types of tissues that work together to perform a specific function ____________________________________________________ Organ Systems -made of organs that work together to perform a specific function _____________________________________________________________ Organisms
