Habitats Project

What to do You have been hired by the Toronto zoo to build a habitat for the new animal they will be acquiring (your choice of animal) You need to research what things the animal will need and be ready to present your findings to the zoo’s management (the class) As the person in charge of this particular habitat, you are being asked to create a PowerPoint presentation of what your habitat will look like

PowerPoint structure Slide 1 - should be a title page: Follow the title page guide that I gave you for projects Slide 2 – food chain of the animal Use arrows to indicate predators and prey

PowerPoint structure Slide 3,4 and 5 – habitat of the animal Show feature of the animals habitat that meet important needs For example beavers use water for shelter [they build their lodges so the entrance is under water], food [cattails, water lilies, and other aquatic plants], and protection [they slap their tails on the water to warn of danger])

PowerPoint structure Slide 6 – how the animal has adapted to its environment include animal adaptations (e.g. webbed feet, long neck, spotted fur coat, claws, etc.) Slide 7 – Bibliography Follow the bibliography outline that I gave you

What else to include Include pictures/backgrounds in your slides Make sure that your slides have easy to read bullet points Make sure your slides are well organized (if you think your slide is too crowded, add another slide) DUE ON________________________________
