Lesson 6 - Conflict Resolution 4 This lesson will be designed based on material and supporting information that will be structured in accordance with the State Board of Education and recommendation of the guidance counselors and the faculty of Edmondson Westside skills center. 4 It will be designed for interactive role play and dissemination of information from a scholastic as well as a corporate perspective.

Lesson 7 - Work Ethics 4 This lesson is designed to discuss importance issues such as accountability, dependability and time management with regard to all these issues being major components when it comes down to maintaining a steady job. 4 We will discuss the meaning of accountability, dependability, and how you manage your time, and why each of these are important to an employer. 4 Activity: Each student is to write an essay about what these three terms means to them and what behaviors you have demonstrated or exhibited in you lives so far with regard to your school attendance.

Lesson 9 - Resume Writing 4 This lesson is designed to have the students begin thinking about the various job opportunities that are available to them. 4 This is where we will discuss the skills sets required for jobs. 4 Explain the economics of education- the more education you have, the more money you can make. 4 Discuss methods of having a career or the opportunity to be an entrepreneur. 4 List the various methods of finding a job. 4 How to fill out a job application Finally, preparing a resume. –Different resume styles. Traditional Conventional –What type is right for you? 4 Activity: Use the following resume shell to write in your personal data information. If you desire, you can use one of the other resume styles to complete your assignment.

Lesson 10 - Interview Skills 4 This lesson is designed to teach the students the skills of doing well in a job interview. Students will have the opportunity to role play and video the interview process. 4 It is recommended that the class be divided in groups of two. 4 This will allow each group to demonstrate, evaluate and offer constructive feedback of the interview process. 4 Guidance counselors and faculty will be asked to participate in this session. 4 Note: Depending on where we are in the school year, it may be useful to have the 11th graders critique and evaluate the 12th graders since the seniors will be using the applied learning upon graduation.
