Your Professional Growth Plan (PGP)
What is a PGP? • The PGP is educator-driven; and • The educator determines whether the PGP is factored into their evaluation
Two Year Track Includes Title I , Tier I or Title I, Tier II schools, central office staff assigned to Title I, Tier I and Title I, Tier II, or special education teachers who teach in self- contained classrooms. 2 years June 2, 2016: Start earning CUs. October 2016: Submit the PGP to your supervisor for approval. Summer of 2018: Complete your PGP. August 2018: Receive your column advancement.
Three Year Track Includes Title I, Tier III schools and central office not eligible for the 2 year track. 3 years June 2, 2016: Start earning CUs. October 2016: Submit the PGP to your supervisor for approval. Summer of 2019: Complete your PGP. August 2019: Receive your column advancement.
Master Practitioner The Master Practitioner pathway is a career pathway available to educators/ licensed professionals who have a Master’s Degree. This career pathway is being developed in collaboration with the CCEA and the District.
Contact Units (CUs) Each CU is equivalent to 180 minutes of “clock” time. Must be completed outside of the contractual workday. An educator/licensed professional can accrue CUs at ½ rate while being compensated at $22/hour. An educator/licensed professional teaching at a Title I, Tier I or Title I, Tier II school can receive pay and full CUs while conducting tutoring or mentoring at their school site.
1 PDE credit = 15 clock hours= 5 CUs Contact Units Example A CCSD conducted Professional Development Education (PDE) course is equivalent to: 1 PDE credit = 15 clock hours= 5 CUs * If accepting compensation for this course, only 2.5 CUs would be accrued.
