Hunter’s and Jakob’s RAINFOREST ADVENTURE

What is a rain forest? A rainforest is a nice place to be. It rains in the rainforest every day. It gets as hot as 90 degrees. The Amazon rainforest is the biggest rainforest in the world. It carries more than 50 percent of the worlds animals. It gets more than 200 inches of rain a year.

Location of Rain Forests Rainforests are located around the equator. The largest one is in South America.

Emergent Layer There are many different animals in the Emergent layer. There are mostly birds in the emergent layer. Monkeys and apes live their too.

Canopy Layer Spider monkeys live in the canopy and the emergent layer. Some birds such as parrots and toucans also live in the canopy. Macaws and Harpy eagles live in the canopy.

Understory Layer Jaguars live in the understory layer. Also ocelots live in the understory. Different types of snakes like mambas live in the understory. Many kinds of reptiles live in the understory like lizards.

Forest Floor Many animals and insects live on the forest floor. Many scorpions live their. Also frogs live on the forest floor. Jaguars roam the rainforest. They rule the rainforest.

Deforestation Many people are now cutting down rainforest trees for money. They are using it for wooden floors. They use it for furniture to.

People Of The Rainforest The rainforest offers many different ways for humans to make a living. The simplest and oldest way is hunting and gathering. The Rainforest people only take what they need. There is 140,000,000 that people live in the rainforest.

Piranhas Pironas have teeth like a sharks. Some live in The Amazon River. They rule the Amazon River.

The Jaguar The jaguar is a carnivore, that means it only eats meat. It eats armadillo and some monkeys. Jaguars are only found in tropical rainforests all over the world. They live in the canopy, understory, and the forest floor. They sleep for a large amount of time, for about 20 hours.

Gorillas Gorillas also live in the rainforest. They are herbivores, that means they only eat plants. If another animal is bothering them, they give four chances to go away. If they stay to the fourth chance the gorilla attacks. They live in the forest floor and through the canopy.

Chimps Chimps have very sharp teeth. They like to climb in trees. They spend most of their life in trees. They only eat plants like grass. They are like gorillas because they are like a smaller version of them from their fur. Chimps tend to live in packs. They sometimes get in fights.

Boa Constrictors live all over the world. They strangle their prey and eat it whole. They can grow up to 20 feet long and 12 inches thick. They camouflage into their surroundings. BOAC ONSTRICTORS

Tigers There are 2 different types of tigers in the rainforest the Bengal tiger and Sumatran tiger. They are carnivores that means that they only eat meat. They live on the forest floor. They rule the rainforests all over the world. They can get to 7 feet up 4 feet long. The tiger is the biggest cat in the world.
