Shark Facts Sharks have a variety of body shapes. Sharks have cartilage only, and not bones. There are over 350 different species of sharks. Sharks have existed since before dinosaurs.

Bonnehead Shark The average Bonnehead shark is small. They have smooth round heads. A Bonnehead shark has small, sharp in the front of their mouth, and flat broad molars in the back of their mouth. Bonnehead sharks are harmless to humans; timid shark.

Great White Shark Great White sharks have 3,000 teeth. They are streamlined swimmers. These sharks have torpedo shaped bodies. Their top surface is gray to blue gray.

Blacktip Reef Shark Blacktip Reef Shark has long, thin, serrated teeth. They are very common in the coral reefs and shallow lagoons of the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans. These can grow up to about 6 feet. The sharks prey upon surgeon fish and mullet.
