The digital portfolios provide a meaningful collection of an individual's best work, typically generated over a year or a longer period of time to reflect upon one’s work. Most digital portfolios contain a broad range of information in a variety of media, such as text, photographs, illustrations, diagrams, web material, audio files, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations.
Easy to update Easy to transport Take less storage space than traditional paper or electronic portfolios More professional in appearance And in the case of the Web, easy to disseminate to a wide audience
Digital portfolio is accessible from many places as long as there is an internet connection. We may use digital portfolio at school, university and home. For example, a student can create a project summary at school, access it further at home. Hence, it is very flexible for students particularly because they do not have to necessarily bring laptops and pen drives along with them.
The digital portfolio can be used by many individuals simultaneously. For example, teachers or educators they may use this software to interact online, share notes with their students. As for students, they can demonstrate proof of their technical skills while also displaying their ability to apply technology in the creation of multimedia presentations.
Everything that is created by a student can be uploaded directly to their Google Drive account and into a “Portfolio” folder that can then be shared with any one of their teachers.
