What Is MetaViewer? MetaViewer is a report viewing application that allows users to view report on-screen. No data inputting or editing. Live data – data changes daily. Primarily used for account reconciliation. A tool to verify correct dollar amounts are entered and allocated to the right account numbers. LMU fiscal year – June, 1 st to May 31 st Available on campus only Do not share your login or data Logoff when you are away from your computer

Account Balances Report Account Balances Report serves as a summary report Sorted by Account Number first, then Object Code, and date Primarily used to see how much fund has been spent and how much fund is left for each object code

Accounting Detail Report Accounting Detail Report is an itemized expense and revenue report Sorted by Account Number first, then Object Code, and date Primarily used to search for a transaction, reconcile P- Card transactions and Requisitions

Toolbars Report Search On/Off allows you to search for any text or numbers in the open document Print allows you to print all pages or specific pages within a range Rotating not available Text/Blank toggles between Text view and Blank view (cut page in half)

Toolbars Zoom Up for zooming in Zoom Down for zooming out Zoom Full Page scales open document vertically Zoom Page Width scales open document horizontally Zoom Full Size returns open document to default zoom level

Toolbars Yellow Slider or icon for navigating between pages; display number of pages (matches) in report that you are allowed to see or after Report Search. Left 0 switch view from Text to Blank (need to click the Blank icon to return to default view) Green Slider or icon not available for most users; displays number of pages in the entire campus report Right 0 not available for most users Restore/Minimize icon allows you to toggle between Full View and Minimized View (showing Folder Pane and Document Pane)

Go to a Page Navigate from Page to Page icon Yellow slider Main Menu > View > Goto Navigate within a Page Vertical or Horizontal Scroll Bar

Print a Report Toolbar > Printer icon > Select a printer > Change number of copies (optional) > Print button

Search in a Report Toolbar > click Report Search icon > Type text or number > press Enter key Lines matching your search term highlighted in yellow To turn off Report Search, click on the Report Search button again

Master Report Search Master Search button is located right below the Main Menu. It searches for all the report you are allowed to view. Using this feature often cause MetaViewer to become unresponsive. DO NOT use this feature. Use Report Search instead.

Common Accounting Codes AP = Accounts Payable (reimbursement checks, vendor invoices, requisition forms) JE = Journal Entry for internal fund transfer (Campus Digital Graphics, Facilities Management, Sodexho catering)

($60) Excel – negative, money spent MetaViewer – positive, money received MetaViewer Math

Set Startup Font Size Main Menu > Options > Workstation Preferences > Startup Font Size (charge to a larger number)

Subscriptions Main Menu > Options > Subscriptions

Greenbar Greenbar height = 3 Greenbar height = 1 Main Menu > Options > Workstation Preferences > Greenbar Greenbar color and height is for viewing only. They do not show up on color printout.

Wavy Printout Main Menu > Options > Workstation Preferences > Print Font > Courier New or OCR Extended > OK

Save as ASCII File Main Menu > Options > Export Data > select an Export Set > ASCII File > Lookup File > Export

Choose Data Type Keep default “Fixed width” option > Next

Adjust Columns Follow on-screen instructions to Add, Delete, or Move a break line > Next

Define Data Format Keep the default “General” > Finish

Open Data File in Excel In Excel > File > Open > Change “Files of type” to All Files

Modify Column Widths In Excel > Expand Column Widths

Save As an Excel File In Excel > Office Button > File > Save As > Excel Workbook
