HOPE- WHAT CHRISTIANS KNOW Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Rom 5:1-5 ESV)

HOPE- WHAT CHRISTIANS KNOW  Hope - ε ̓ λπις elpis (el-pece') From ε ̓ λπω elpo ̄ which is a primary word (to anticipate, usually with pleasure); expectation (abstract or concrete) or confidence: - faith, hope.  The biblical definition of hope is confident expectation.  What are we really saying when we say, “I hope so?”  What do Christians know that gives them hope?

PEACE WITH GOD THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). ACCESS TO GRACE And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us.
