Palm Sunday

Christ is with us He is with us indeed And so we gather.... In the name of the Father…

May we always welcome Jesus into our hearts with joy. Help us to see Christ in all people and help them to feel welcome. Amen

Lord Jesus, you welcome us into your family. Lord Have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Jesus Christ, you bring hope and joy to all who believe in you. Christ have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord Jesus, you wash away the sins of the world. Lord have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

All who love me will keep my words, my Father will love them, and we will come to them.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew Glory to you, Oh Lord The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

All who love me will keep my words, my Father will love them, and we will come to them.

I wonder what you heard in the Gospel today? What did the crowds outside Jerusalem carpet the road with? Why was Jesus not the kind of King many people expected? What was the mood of the crowd that day?

As brothers and sisters in one loving family, together let us pray to our Heavenly Father... That the Church and all her people will welcome Christ into their daily lives. Lord in your mercy, Lord hear our prayer. That refugees from hunger and war will be warmly welcomed by other countries and nations. Lord in your mercy, Lord hear our prayer. That all who have died will be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. Lord in your mercy, Lord hear our prayer.

That our homes schools and parishes will be places where others are always made to feel welcome. Lord in your mercy, Lord hear our prayer. Knowing that our heavenly Father is listening, in the silence of our hearts, let us share our own unspoken prayers with him.

Our gesture... While we listen to some quiet music please could teachers ask one child from each class to come and collect a gesture from the focal point. The gestures have been created by the children in class 2 to reflect the meaning of our gospel today!

Loving Father Warm our hearts with your love so that you will always find a welcome in our lives. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen

I wanna praise you Lord, and I wanna serve you Lord, and I wanna love you Lord my God. (x2) With all my heart, with all my soul, with all my strength, Yeah! Write your words on my heart, Lord, I’ll teach them to your children, I will talk of your words Again and again. When I sit in my house, Lord, When I walk by the way, Lord, And when I lie down, And when I arise!

Welcome the Lord into your life today
