Lesson 54 Prayer
Luke 2:37 [Anna] never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Prayer is WORSHIP.
Matthew 15:8 8 ”‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’” Psalm 19:14 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Prayer is a matter of LIPS (words) AND HEARTS.
Prayer is WORSHIP. Prayer is a matter of LIPS (words) AND HEARTS. Isaiah 1:15 15 When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood; Hebrews 11:6 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Prayer is the FRUIT OF A LIVING FAITH
Philippians 4:6 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ASK Ephesians 3:12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. CONFIDENTLY 1 John 3:1 1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! WE CAN PRAY A PRAYER OUT OF A BOOK Matthew 6: “This, then, is how you should pray: ”‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ OR A PRAYER WE HAVE MEMORIZED
John 16:23 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. WE CAN ASK FOR ANYTHING IN JESUS’ NAME 1 Timothy 2:1 1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone WITH THANKS
