How do cells work together? Cells have special shapes and structures to perform specialized jobs.

Types of Cells and Their Work Branching Cells-nerve cells that send signals between the brain and body Flat Cells-overlap to cover a surface (skin) Round Cells-Red blood cells’ shape allows them to move through blood vessels.

Special Cell Structures Hair-like structures in ear bend and send signals to the brain. Cilia are hair-like structures in lungs that sweep out dirt and germs. Muscle cells have long fibers made of protein.
