Munday CISD Areas Targeted for Improvement

Currently Day Care, Elementary Music and Reading Classes in 3 separate portable, temporary buildings New addition would hold Day Care and two lower elementary classes New addition would be a dome structure built to meet FEMA 361 standards for storm safe buildings. It will easily hold entire elementary campus students and employees.

Proposed Elementary Addition

Preliminary floor plan Estimated cost $825,000 5,000 Total Square Feet

Elementary Renovation Replace windows HVAC with newer more efficient equipment and fans in gym.

Drop/Off Pickup Curbing and possible street work to create a safer area for parents to drop off and pick up students.

JH Area Currently JH students are scattered and do not have access to restrooms without going outside to another building

The dome building would be separate from the HS students located at the SW corner of the current HS building. 4 or 5 classrooms and restrooms. This building would also meet FEMA 361 standards for storm safety.

Preliminary JH Floor Plan Estimated cost $1,377,124

Student Safety / Security Cameras will cover the entrances and parking areas. Fencing will be placed so that entry through the front door or other secure door will be required.

Secure entrances This area will be renovated to require all visitors during the school day be checked in. Visitors will have access to the office only. No more wandering up and down the halls or into classrooms. Similar renovation will take place on the elementary campus. Deterring intruders from getting to our kids.

The Gym Our gym is not ADA compliant Physically handicapped fans cannot access the stands.

The Gym Physically handicapped students cannot access dressing areas.

Gym Seating Hard for older people to get up and down Benches are close, too close for comfort

New Gym Proposal New Gym with ADA compliant seating, an eating area with a view of the game. A new concession area, larger dressing areas, theatre seating.
