Le Havre Declaration in 4 th COP June, 2007 GU8Approval of two new members: University of Hawaii, University of HullGU8 URI President Carothers became Chair of the Council of Presidents. The COP merged the Building Administrative Capacity Committee (BACC) into the EC. The 3 rd Joint Research Committee (JRC) and the last BACC meetings were held in Haifa, Israel, April Overview of GU8 Initiatives

Haifa Resoluton for the 3 rd JRC, 3 rd BACC, and 2 nd Library Workshop, April, 2007 Library Committee will evaluate –Terms with vendors and other consortia –Assessment of faculty information needs in GU8 fields of interest that cannot be fulfilled by local library or consortia, but might be met by consortial acquisition –Possibility open access publication system by the GU8 Members signed an interlibrary loan agreement Members are interested in an exchange program The Library Committee will report at the next EC meeting due to the merger of BACC into EC Overview of GU8 Activities since the 3 rd Education Committee Meeting (June 2006)

Proposal: Global MBA and Leadership Program

Goals  Coordination with ongoing research documenting successful business in each country.  Collaborative education system, recognizing community and national emphasis and also salient issues in the global community.  Integration of academic research and knowledge and with practical training and skill development.  Multi-faceted integration of local, national and global perspectives to cultivate future educators, professionals, and business leaders.
