The Excretory System

 Removes solid, liquid, or gas waste from the body

 Excretory or excrete means to remove  There are many organs in the body that remove waste from your body.  List as many organs as you can that remove waste… Think about solids, liquids, and waste. (Hint there are 4 major organs)

Function  Lungs remove a gas from our body that is a waste product of the mitochondria after it makes energy.  Can you name the gas?  Carbon Dioxide

 Rectum is part of the digestive system Function  To remove solid waste from your body.  Feces is collected in the rectum until your body sends you the message to go. The feces is then pushed out of the anus.
