Fields of Ministry… given by the Holy Spirit 2 Corinthians 10:13 We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you… NKJV

Understanding “Fields of Ministry”  2 Corinthians 10:13 “We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you…”NKJV  Limits = “metron” = Greek = the measure, sphere, or boundary of authority  God gives metron(s) to every Christian.  Every Christian has at least one.  May include: home, marriage, neighborhood, friends, family, community, business, church or churches, Life Group, traveling ministry, music ministry, care ministry, administrative ministry, different types of work, etc.  This godly metron of authority can be established also by marriage, parenthood and family lineage.

Understanding “Fields of Ministry”  Ephesians 4:7 translates metron differently: “…but to each one of us grace has been given as Christ has apportioned it.”  “Apportioned” is the word translated from metron which is a Field of Ministry. See also Ephesians 4:11.  Farmers know their fields and the fence rows and know how to stay within them for successful farming.  This is one way the Holy Spirit disciples us.

Understanding “Fields of Ministry”  In Exodus 14:15, God rebuked Moses for not leading and using the authority he had been given as the leader of the children of Israel.  Adam…mistakenly forfeited his God given metron … realm of dominion and authority; however Jesus Christ restored it back again to His Believers by destroying the power of the enemy.  The Holy Spirit, in you, gives you the leading and the authority.  Satan will try to steal it from you, or blind you to that authority.  You can step out of your Field of Ministry and have problem if you do not understand this principle of God’s Kingdom.

Understanding “Fields of Ministry”  Jesus determines the Expanse of the Field of Ministry and authority – Luke 9, Luke 10, Mark 16  Apostle Peter to the Jews; Paul to the Gentiles  You will have greater authority when you stay within your Field of Ministry.  You can impart authority for your Field of Ministry to others.  The Holy Spirit not only assigns the metron in specific ways but He also gives you the Grace to walk or function in it.

Understanding “Fields of Ministry”  How to determine your Field of Ministry?  Prayer – Ask God to show you specifically.  Circumstances.  Fruitfulness and success.  Be filled with the Holy Spirit and receive prophetic words that always need to be tested.  Ask spiritually mature leaders to help discern it.  Begin to step out in it…

Checklist to evaluate your metron 1. KNOW TO WHOM OR TO WHAT YOU ARE CALLED. 2. KNOW YOUR GIFTs and operate in them. 3. KNOW YOUR ASSIGNMENTS and stay within them. 4. KNOW YOUR MEASURE OF FAITH and operate in that. 5. KNOW YOUR PATTERN OF SUCCESSES and recognize your realm of metron. 6. KNOW GOD’S WAYS TO OVERCOME THE ENEMY for you have been given the authority to win against the enemy in your metron. 7. HAVE A COVERING OF SPIRITUAL LEADERS who will bless your serving in that realm of metron.

Understanding “Fields of Ministry”  Application –  Every person has one or more Field of Ministry.  The Body needs you to function in your Field of Ministry. Without it we are not complete. Ephesians 4:11 – 16  Make a new decision today to find out and enter into your Field of Ministry…and begin to step out in it.  2 Timothy 1:14 “Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.”
