Welcome back eager young artists! Ms. Edelman Tuesday, June 21, 2016 DO NOW:  Download and open eraser.ppt from the lessons folder in Dropbox.  Take out your notebook and a pen.  Pass HS Directory cover sketch forward.

What are the eraser tools?  Photoshop provides three eraser tools that can help you delete or erase any pixels on a image.

How does the eraser work?  By default, the eraser tool “paints” with the background color on the background layer. Foreground color Background color

How does the eraser work?  In a flattened file, the eraser used the background color.  In a layered file, the eraser used transparency represented by the checkerboard.

How does the eraser work?  Each eraser tool has its own options bar.  You can select the brush, block or pencil mode, the brush tip and size for both the Eraser Tool and the Background Eraser Tool.

What is OPACITY?  Opacity is the ability to see through a layer so that layers beneath it are visible.  0% Opacity = 100% transparency  100% Opacity = 0% transparency

What is the Magic Eraser tool?  Similar to the Magic Wand, just click and it erases a continuous area of like color-value pixels.  Only uses transparency, never the background color.
