3 A2 Subjects General Studies A2 Extended Project Qualification For each A2, the majority of students will study 2 units for each subject. Some subjects will require 3 Units. To achieve A* students will have achieved A grades on their AS units and a combined score of 180+ on their A2 units (2 units) or a score of 270+ for those A2 subjects that consist of 3 units Year 13 – A2 Subjects

AS/A Level A* A B C D E U Grading at AS and A Level This is different to GCSE. Every Grade is a Pass except ‘U’. Each Grade carries points to get into University. Universities will ask students to achieve a certain number of points or grades to be accepted onto a course. How do we know what grade your son/daughter is working at? We begin by using a Nationally recognised predictor based on students’ GCSE Results. This is converted into a TARGET grade which gives each teacher the grade your son/daughter should be working towards in each subject. Teachers will use their assessments and exam scores to determine how well you son/daughter is working. Every subject has in place an assessment system to determine progress and intervene early if they have concerns. Students will complete four internal assessments each year. They will be given a predicted grade after each assessment. This will be compared against the target grade to determine progress. Intervention will be made if students do not meet expected progress.
