Essential Skills Wales ICT Level 1

ESW ICT L1 Portfolio outcome for at least one activity. Evidence sufficient level 1 features (1.3.1) within the final outcome. If two non-related activities are used to evidence then the whole- process needs to be evidenced for each activity

ESW ICT Level 1 You must provide evidence that you can: ICT1.1 Use ICT systems ICT1.1.1 Confirm your understanding of a given task that involves the use of ICT. ICT1.1.2 Use ICT independently to carry out the task. ICT1.1.3 Follow safe, healthy and secure working practices at all times.

ESW ICT L1 Assignment brief Candidate statement of understanding. Include statement of how they will follow H&S guidance during the completion of the portfolio

ESW ICT Level 1 You must provide evidence that you can: ICT1.2 Find, select and exchange information ICT1.2.1 Find, select and use appropriate sources of ICT- based information. ICT1.2.2 Search for, select and get ICT- based information that is relevant to each task. ICT1.2.3 Enter, save, send, receive and exchange ICT-based information to suit your purpose.

ESW ICT L1 Search log? Evidence of searching and obtaining ICT based information –NB not necessary for non-ICT source at L1 Reliability of the source and/or establish the copyright status.

ESW ICT Level 1 You must provide evidence that you can: ICT1.3 Develop and present information ICT1.3.1 Enter, develop, format and bring together ICT-based information to suit your purpose, in the form of: Text Tables Images numbers. ICT1.3.2 Present information, using consistent layouts that are fit for purpose and audience, using ICT, and review your work.

ESW ICT L1 For each activity show development through at least one draft: –text, number, image and tables into the final piece of work. Text: –E.g. fonts, justification, underlining, use of bold, changing page orientation, inserting bullet points, etc.

ESW ICT L1 Number development: –spreadsheet must show use of simple formula to complete calculations –must feature derived result / graph in 1.3 outcome Image development (pictures, charts, etc.) –e.g. re-sizing and re-positioning. –If charts and graphs are used they must be labeled correctly.

ESW ICT L1 Table development: –e.g. re-sizing, adding, deleting columns or rows. –Formatting such as shading, etc. The final document must include the developed text, number, image and table. Review: – of outcome in terms of fitness for purpose –whole process of the work

ESW ICT L1 - Additional evidence Safe, healthy and secure working practices –following the completion of the activity (past tense) (once) –send receive and respond with attachment Saving –evidence of folders and files –back up (external drive?) –Each activity
