* Prostate cancer occurs in the prostate which is a small walnut shaped gland, this gland transports sperm and produces seminal fluid of which the sperm gets its nutrients from. Prostate cancer is a very common type of cancer that occurs in men which usually grows slowly and stays restricted in the prostate gland. Other types of prostate cancer can grow rapidly. If detected early there is a better chance of treatment.

There aren't specific causes to how a person gets prostate cancer but doctors are aware that prostate cancer begins when the cells in your prostate start to become abnormal. While the abnormal cells multiply the normal ones die out. These cells grow a tumor, which can invade the normal tissues around it.

* Trouble urinating * Blood in semen * Erectile dysfunction * Bone pains

Treatments can vary depending on what stage the prostate cancer is at. For men who were diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer treatment may not be needed right away. There are treatments such as radiation therapy which uses a large amount of energy to kill cancer cells. There is also hormone therapy which can slow down the production of male testosterone.

* Choose healthy foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals to uphold the healthy levels of vitamins in your body. * Exercise: research shows that men who exercise have a lower risk of getting prostate cancer. * Talk to your doctor about heightened risk of prostate cancer
