Designing your Dream home or a dwelling in a challenging environment
Here are the expectations for your house Use architectural (feet/inches) template in Google SketchUp House must be accurately measured, all items to realistic scale Design your house based on your current home (i.e. bedrooms (3), kitchen/dining, bathroom (2), living room or family room, utility/mechanical room, garage, porches/decks
You may only use the Warehouse for the following items; Add them towards the end of your design as they will slow down your computer!!! All plumbing fixtures such as tubs, sinks, faucets, toilets, showers… Plants and animals Windows and doors (you can build these if you want a custom look) Environments to place your house in Cars/motor cycles Small kitchen appliances
You may not use the Warehouse for the following items; Furniture (such as chairs, tables, couches, night stands, lamps, beds, hot tubs, pools, rugs or paintings/pictures) Stairs, cabinets, railings/banisters, bookshelves, fireplaces, clocks, If in doubt ask the teacher
When building your house Watch out for zero thick walls, you can’t cut openings in them Watch your scale, 9000 ft. walls are not good If a surface will not push or pull it’s crossing another edge You may want to bring in your terrain (where the house will be located) first To copy, select all parts of the object, go to edit make component
Your project will be graded on the following Is the house accurately designed (to scale) Do I have all the required rooms Did I create from scratch my furnishings (followed warehouse rules) Did I create scenes so that the viewer can do a virtual walk thru of my home
