Leonardo da Vinci Madonna and Child (Madonna Litta)
The painter Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was an Italian polymath, being a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. Leonardo was and is renowned primarily as a painter. Two of his works, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, are the most famous. This work was painted sometime in the 1480s
The content This work shows the Madonna suckling the Christ Child. Note the lack of halos in this painting; several Madonnas attributed to Leonardo display this same trait. Replicas of this painting are commor, strongly in dicating it was a famous composition.
The way it was painted Tempera on canvas ( 蛋彩‧畫布 ) Tempera: Adust the powder pigment with the yolk, usually paint it on the specially-made plank. This kind of technique of painting is the standard skill and technique of Middle Ages.
