The Best Defense is a Good Offense Daniel: Daniel 6:5 “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.” (Daniel 6:10) Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. (NKJV)

The way we respond to allegations says something to others about who we are. Jesus: (Matthew 27:11-14) Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" So Jesus said to him, "It is as you say." And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. Then Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?" But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly. (NKJV)

The way we respond to allegations says something to others about who we are. Jesus: He had confronted them about doctrinal error… He had stood in defense of the sinner…as when with the woman accused of adultery (Jn. 8:11) On more than one occasion He became furious with righteous indignation when they had turned the temple of His Father into a den of thieves (Jn. 2:11-12; Mat. 21:12-13) But Jesus rarely, if ever did Jesus is ever mentioned as spending time defending Himself!

The way we respond to allegations says something to others about who we are. Jesus: (Tit. 3:10-11) “Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self- condemned.”

The way we respond to allegations says something to others about who we are. Jesus: (Jn. 18:38) “I find no fault in Him at all.” (Matthew 27:14) But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly. (NKJV)

The way we respond to allegations says something to others about who we are. Jesus: (Mat. 11:19) “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her children.”

The Proper Response to False Accusations Affirm the truth. (Mat. 27:11) “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus responded, “It is as you say.”

The Proper Response to False Accusations Try responding with kindness and prayer. (Matthew 5:44) "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, (quoting Prov. 25:22) Prov. 25:22 continues by saying, “For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you.”

The Proper Response to False Accusations Try responding with kindness and prayer. (Psalms 35:11-12) Fierce witnesses rise up; They ask me things that I do not know. They reward me evil for good, To the sorrow of my soul.

The Proper Response to False Accusations What about being happy? (Acts 5:40) And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. (Acts 5:41) So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
