Sites and visits in Krakow Auschwitz-Birkenau Arguably Krakow's "must see" visit. The site of the Auschwitz concentration camp is a moving memorial to the over 1.5 million Jews who died there during WWII. Students see a short film about the liberation of the camp before visiting some of the surviving prison blocks, gas chamber and crematorium. One of the most horrific acts in human history is presented with a level of tact, poignancy and professionalism that is profound.

Sites and visits in Krakow Guided sightseeing tour of Krakow Half day walking tour of the Old Town takes in some of Krakow’s major sights, including Kazimierz – the former Jewish quarter, Remuh and Isaac Synagogues, Wawel Cathedral, St Mary’s Church and Collegium Maius.

Sites and visits in Krakow Czestochawa Monastery To understand the central role that Catholicism still holds in contemporary Poland, the Czestochawa Monastery is one of the world's greatest places to pilgrimage as people flock to see it's famous icon, the Black Madonna, reproductions of which exist in almost every Polish church.

Sites and visits in Krakow Kazimierz Kazimierz is Krakow's former Jewish quarter which was made world famous thanks to Steven Spielberg's famous film, Schindler's List. Pre World War II, Poland housed the largest Jewish community in Europe and Kazimierz is representative of this. it will enable students to retrace the history of Krakow's Jews, and see the remains of their culture here.

Sites and visits in Krakow Wawel Castle & Cathedral The Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral on Wawel Hill was built at the time of Casimir III the Great, who reigned from 1333 to It is the most historically and culturally important site in Poland. The castle is a combination of Medieval Romanesque, Renaissance styles all brought by different rulers and houses extremely valuable museum collections.
