Dividing Syllables Between Vowels We have learned about vowel teams and how we use them to sound out words. Some words contain two vowels that, when sounded out, do not make a word. poet create These words look like they would have a long vowel sound.

Dividing Syllables Between Vowels When you try to sound them out with a long sound they do not make real words. pō/et crē/āte So, you will need to divide these words between the vowels. o / cl o / ME poet create

Irregular Plural Nouns In lesson 16 we learned about adding s and es to make plural nouns. Nouns that can be made plural by adding s or es are called regular plural nouns. There are many nouns that can not be made plural this way.
