The Blazon of Northern Ireland was approved in It has occurred after forming Irish Free state whereupon has immediately followed the detachment of Northern Ireland from Irish Free state. The accepted blazon presented the silver field with above mentioned "Ulster banner". The escutcheon keepers were accepted in It became the red lion in gold dog-collar with gold harp and Irish moose in gold dog- collar too with duke’s De Burgos banner. The Red Lion is a symbol of royal privilege, courage, generosity, power, bravery, nobility, pride, fights, victory. The Moose is a symbol of timber might, wealth animal world, power, endurance, constancy, intellect, generosity, nobility, beauty, independence, liberty and dignify. In 1971 London Blazon Board has added the base, on which the escutcheon keepers are standing. From 1925 to 1972 the blazon was used as official symbol to Northern Ireland. Nowadays it is historical and is not using officially.
On legend, the first Gaelic harp had ruler Dugd, but the gods of the cold and darkness have stolen it. Good gods of the light and sun has found it and returned to Dugd. The harp became a symbol of Ireland in XIII age. The first mentioning the Golden Harp on azure field as a blazon of the Irish King was in french blazon’s catalog in 1280 year. In 1541 the twelve-string Harp was accepted as symbol of new Kingdom of Ireland, formed by Henrich I, Irish. The Shamrock The shamrock is the symbol of Northern Ireland. It is also connected to St. Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick is most famous for bringing Christianity to Ireland. The legend tells how he used the shamrock, a kind of a white clover with three leaves to explain the Holy Trinity. Apparently, he used it to show how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity.
St. Patrick’s Day On March, 17 Irishmans celebrate St. Patrick’s Day – one of the most positive holidays in Ireland. On this day they recall Patron Saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, who brought Christianity into the pagan Ireland in IV-V ages. On legend, he also saved the island from snakes. They celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, making costumed procession, drinking beer and wearing green clothes. The Chicago river is painted in green color too at St. Patrick’s Day.
Leprechauns are magic creatures with red beards and in green suits. They came from Celtic mythology, and, accordingly, are not Christian personages. Leprechauns sew boots, found and keep ancient treasure in a pots. On legend if you even will catch a Leprechaun, he will promise rich ransom for its liberation.
