Updates to Eligibility Requirements: Students HB1 Disenroll
Michelle’s Law – Additional explanation added: Available for a dependent child who is enrolled as a student in the health plan and who is on a medically necessary leave of absence from school Coverage continues until either 1 year after start of medically necessary leave or when student’s coverage would have otherwise ended This leave is processed by HCM Benefits, not the agency. Please refer cases to HCM. Unmarried Children Age 19 through 22: Student status
Terminology change from “HB1 dependent” to “HB1 child” Additional information on enrolling an HB1 child Employee must notify HCM Customer Service within 30 days of change in circumstance Employee can or call HCM Customer Service HCM Customer Service is required to provide information within 30 days HB1 Child
It is the employee’s responsibility to disenroll a family member who is no longer eligible for coverage. Disenroll ineligible dependent
Updates to Definitions and Required Documents for Eligibility Checklist: Spouses Students
For all dependents enrolled in any benefits plan, eligibility rules must be followed and required documents must be submitted on a timely basis.
