Mark 4:33-41

 33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it.  34 He did not speak to them without a parable…

 12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth John 16:12-13 (ESV)  1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.  2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 1 Cor 3:1-2 (ESV)

, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything. Mark 4:34 (ESV)

 19 And a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”  20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”  21 Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”  22 And Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.” Matt 8:19-22 (ESV)

 13 And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him.  14 And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach  15 and have authority to cast out demons. Mark 3:13-15 (ESV)

 35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.”  36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him.  37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. Mark 4:35-37 (ESV)

 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”  39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” Mark 4:38-40 (ESV)

 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:41 (ESV)

 24 “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are— the Holy One of God.”  25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!”  26 And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.  27 And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.” Mark 1:24-27 (ESV)

 40 And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, “If you will, you can make me clean.”  41 Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.” Mark 1:40-41 (ESV)

 9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’?  10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—  11 “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.”  12 And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Mark 2:9-12 (ESV)

 1 They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes.  2 And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.  3 He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain,  4 for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. Mark 5:1-4 (ESV)

 5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.  6 And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him.  7 And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.”  8 For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” Mark 5:5-8 (ESV)

 9 And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”  10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country.  11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside,  12 and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.”  13 So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered the pigs, and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and were drowned in the sea. Mark 5:9-13 (ESV)

 14 The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened.  15 And they came to Jesus and saw the demon- possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.  16 And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs. Mark 5:14-16 (ESV)

 17 And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region.  18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him.  Mark 5:17-18 (ESV)

 19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”  20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled. Mark 5:19-20 (ESV)

 Who is Jesus to us? Lord & Savior to whom we look for every need? The Holy One with authority whom we fear?  Are we ready “to give an answer for the hope that is in us” to those “who are able to hear”?  How do we respond to the “storms of life?” Do we fear or trust in Him?  Are we “in Community” or “in Fellowship” with His people? Do we tell what He has done for us?
