NEW BEGINNINGS

The story of Jesus during Holy Week is the story of new beginnings that last

HOLY WEEK Palm Sunday – “Hosanna” / Accepted Good Friday – “Crucify Him” / Betrayed Resurrection – NEW BEGINNING

There is only one bridge between the pain of the past and God’s new beginning (new life/resurrection free from the pain)

Father, forgive them Luke 23:34

THE BIG IDEA There is no such thing as a new beginning without faith to forgive

WHY?

“See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root [of unforgiveness] grows up [and sinks down into you] to cause trouble [and torment]” (Heb 12:15)

“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (Jn 8:34-36)

Unforgiveness keeps you chained to your past and pain that keep us from new beginnings.

HOW? There is no such thing as a new beginning without faith to forgive

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the [greater] joy set before him endured the cross” (Heb 12:2-3)

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself & take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.” (Lk 9:23-24)

FORGIVENESS SAYS: “What Jesus has done to bless me, is greater than what you did to hurt me!”

FORGIVENESS SAYS: “My relationship with God defines me more than my relationship with you!”

FORGIVENESS SAYS: “What God has for me in the future is greater than what you stole from me in the past!”

VIDEO HERE

FORGIVENESS SAYS: “God’s story of grace in me is greater than the story of sin against me.”

WHAT HAPPENS? There is no such thing as a new beginning without faith to forgive

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.” (Ro 8:11)

PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS “Jesus, what You did to bless me is greater than what others did to hurt me. Father, forgive them … and free me from the past.”

PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS “Jesus, my relationship with You defines me more than my relationship with any other. Father, forgive them … and teach me who I am in You and how much I am loved.”

PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS “Jesus, what You have for me in the future is greater than what was stolen from me in the past. Father, forgive them … and give me faith to begin to move forward in a new season.”

PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS “Jesus, Your grace for me is greater than the condemnation against me. Father, forgive ME … and lead me to the first steps to take in this new beginning.”

NEW BEGINNINGS. NEXT STEPS. 1. Salvation 2. Water Baptism 3. Friendship

EASTER: GIVE SOMEONE ELSE A CHANCE AT A NEW BEGINNING 1. Pray - This Wed, 7p 2. Invite - 84% success 3. ??? - Easter survey

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel” [2 Co 4:4]
