Christ as Creator  One aspect of Christ not appreciated is His role in creation  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth – Gen. 1:1

Christ as Creator  “The eternal Word became flesh and all things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that has been made” Jn. 1:1,14  “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. Christ’s Incarnate Authority  Though divine as Son of God, did not “grasp” His status of “equality” with the Father - Phil. 2:5-10  He “emptied Himself”, assuming the role of a “servant” Phil. 2:5-10  His exercise of authority subservient to, consistent with the Father’s – Jn. 5:30  Authority that was given to Him by the Father – Jn. 17:2

Christ’s Abiding Authority in Scripture  “I come to you…” Jn. 14:16-18  He pledged that their messages would be those of the Holy Spirit – Jn. 14:26  In their teachings they would be guided by the Holy Spirit into all truth – Jn. 16:13

Christ’s Abiding Authority in Scripture  Christ declared that the apostles future instruction was by His authority – Matt. 10:19  “The things I write unto you…they are the commandment of the Lord” – 1 Cor. 14:37  He was speaking on behalf of Christ – 1 Thess. 4:2
