WASTE IS A PROBLEM.WASTE IS A PROBLEM. FORTUNATELY, THERE ARE THINGS THAT WE CAN ALL DO TO HELP. SOLUTIONS CAN BE AT DIFFERENT LEVELS: INDIVIDUAL, COMMUNITY OR EVEN A CITY

Use less and do not waste things, this will help you reduce the amount of waste you produce. Find ways to re-use things like paper, pens and plastic bottles and find reusable plates, containers & utensils Recycle paper, plastic and if you can glass and aluminum. When shopping carry your own cloth bag and avoid products with several layers of packaging. Identify communal collection point for segregation & transfer Keep house and immediate environment clean (drains, streets in front of the house) through monthly clean-up drives Separate waste in organic and non-organic, wet and dry, keep plastic, paper etc. Compost the organic fraction in own backyard or building compound Establish community based recycling centers © Centre for Environmental Research & Education (CERE) 2011
