Large Scale Pilot Projects (LSP) The idea: Create sustainable and extensible solutions for governments Create software building blocks which can be easily adopted and used for different kinds of IT-projects Existing software building blocks e-Delivery, e-ID, e-Signature, semantics, … 2

Building Blocks Solution Architecture Template (SAT): Solution Architecture Template (SAT): According to EIRA, a SAT is a sub-set of architecture building blocks (of the EIRA). Acting as a template for solutions (and their specific architectures), it guides the development of a certain kind of solutions (and their specific architectures). The identified SAT of e-SENS are:  e-Delivery,  e-Documents,  e-Signatures,  e-ID 5

Legal Basis Criminal law use cases Secure cross-border exchange of sensitive judicial data – Mutual Legal Assistance (“MLA/EURegio”) initiative by the Ministers of The Netherlands, Belgium and NRW (DE) called EURegio international mutual legal assistance and its application in the European Union as a precursor to the European Investigation Order Directive 2014/41 regarding the European Investigation Order in criminal matters, which is due to apply from 2017 Financial Penalties Framework Decision 2005/214/JHA on the application of the principle of mutual recognition to financial penalties Decision to concentrate on traffic offences applies to those offences where offender had not paid the fine 12
