Seminole State College 100 Weldon Blvd Sanford, FL IB Examinations 2016
The Day Before Make sure you have a buddy system in place to prevent oversleeping and provide help if your car breaks down, etc. Set an alarm for the next day in the early evening rather than waiting until you go to bed. Try to actually get some sleep rather than trying to pull an all-nighter. Have your test items ready to go (photo id, pen – blue or black ink, pencil, and a bottle of water – in a clear container)
The Day Before Look at your testing schedule and your map so that you know where and when to report to your exam. AM exams start at 7:00 and PM exams start at 12:30. Arrive early to allow time for traffic delays, parking, etc.
The Day Before Review the Conduct for Examinations rules. You can mark through #5 because we will provide calculators so you are not allowed to bring your own. Colored pencils aren’t allowed Familiarize yourself with how to fill out the cover and answer booklet.
Your 2016 Invigilators Invigilate: (Brit) to watch examination candidates, esp. to prevent cheating; (US) proctor.
On the test day You are required to be present for all of your exams in order to be eligible for the IB Diploma. Failure to attend an exam is an automatic disqualification for the diploma. Wait quietly outside your room without blocking the hallway until your invigilator invites you in. The invigilator will have a seating chart so listen for instructions as you enter the room. Electronic devices (cell phone, smart watches, etc.) will be placed in a holding area away from your seat. You need to know your candidate/session number to fill out the paperwork prior to the exam starting. The invigilator will make sure that you have all the stationary materials that you need (such as answer booklets, graph paper (when applicable), and of course the exam). Use the restroom before the exam starts.
During the Exam You will have 5 minutes of read time before the exam officially begins. During this time you can’t write anything, but you can read and think about your strategy. The exam room must always be silent. Make sure your handwriting is legible. Otherwise, the portion of the paper that can’t be read won’t be scored. The start and finish time of the exam will be posted in in the room. If you must use the bathroom during the exam, notify your invigilator for an escort. Candidates can’t leave during the first hour of an exam and the last 15 minutes of an exam. Invigilators can’t answer any questions in reference to the exam material. The candidate must interpret the demands of the questions on the exam.
At the end of the Exam All students remain in testing room until released by the invigilator. Candidates will need to ensure that their exam materials are in the proper order: cover sheet, any structured examination paper, answer booklet, and any graph paper that has been used. These must be secured with a string tag.
