We bring this to your attention because each registered “Principal Occupant” of Cedar Cove Resort is entitled to vote. Should you choose to exercise this right you have the opportunity to vote for the Councilor for Ward 2, the Deputy Mayor and the Mayor. Lanark Highlands Township covers a very large area, yet has a very small population (less than 6000 voters). During the summer months; Cedar Cove Resort has the highest population in the township. We estimate that there is approximately 500 eligible voters within our resort. Obviously the prospective candidates feel that your vote could be very important to them. Cedar Cove Resort is the fifth largest tax payer in the township. We are also one of the largest employers in the township. The economic impact, for the township, is very significant yet the service and consideration we receive from the municipality is not reciprocated. We hope this is an opportunity to draw attention to ourselves to give Cedar Cove a stronger voice when it comes to issues that affects us. If you are interested in voting in the upcoming election you will need to be added the voters list. You will be asked to provide your name, home address and a copy of your photo identification. We will be providing the necessary forms and the copying service. We will also be collecting the forms and forwarding them to the township on your behalf. Once you have been added to the voters list a “mail in” ballot will be sent to you. Simply fill out the ballot and return it in the postage paid envelope. This is an official list of the candidates to date: Mayor - Brian Stewart or Peter McLaren Deputy Mayor - John Hall or Bob Mingie Councilor Ward 2 - Steve Roberts or Amo Graefe Annual Corn Roast and Cedar Cove Idol Thanks to all of you who braved the rainy weather and come out for our corn roast. Special thanks to Edna Trottier of J07 for coming out to help us cook. The talent was amazing! Congratulations to our winners: TMS Tiia (Site D03) Maya (Site E03) Shelby (Site E03) We are having a plaque made up and will be hanging it in the lodge for all to see. Trick or Treat!
