Genesis is divided into ten main sections, each beginning with the word “account”

Genesis 5 Revised Standard Version (RSV) This is the book of the generations of Adam. Genesis 5 15 When Ma-hal′alel had lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Jared. 16 Ma-hal′alel lived after the birth of Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and had other sons and daughters. 17 Thus all the days of Ma-hal′alel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died. 18 When Jared had lived a hundred and sixty-two years he became the father of Enoch. 19 Jared lived after the birth of Enoch eight hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. 20 Thus all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died…… 25 When Methu′selah had lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, he became the father of Lamech. 26 Methu′selah lived after the birth of Lamech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had other sons and daughters. 27 Thus all the days of Methu′selah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.

What is the point?

Genesis 2 15 The L ORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the L ORD God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.’

Death came in Pattern 5 Thus all the days that ……….lived were ……..years; and he died. “For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many.”

Where did the water go? If the earth were flat, like a billiard ball water would cover the earth to a depth of 3Km! God moved up mountains and made ocean trenches to keep the water and allow land to appear The flood was not just rain

What about the rainbow? Gen 9 12 Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. 13 I have placed my rainbow in the clouds.
